Trump On Tour

Trump On Tour

D. S. Mitchell

I am screaming at the top of my lungs. It’s a damn good thing this is not a pod cast commentary, because someone would be ordering psych restraints for this old girl.

I started writing for Calamity Politics because I saw Trump as a demented, narcissistic, irrational, terrifying, irresponsible, backward thinking, corrupt and dangerous individual. I was concerned that the country had just elected a gross misogynist clown as President of the United States.

I wanted to speak out against what I expected to be an immediate attack on the environment, entitlement programs and Roe v Wade. I knew the Republicans, heavily financed by the Koch Brothers, and other right extremist Superpacs, would launch an all out attack against anything progressive as soon as the inaugural partying was over.

Because of my intense concern, I felt the pressure to get on line with Calamity Politics as soon as possible. If you as a reader, wonder who I am, and what I stand for, I suggest you take a few minutes and read ‘About Me’ and ‘Mission Statement’ which are located on buttons at the top of this page.

I thought I might be alone in my outrage. Had I “lost” my mind, as was suggested by two family members, or was I one of many?

I found out soon that I was just one of an army of individuals who were truly fearful that the election of Donald Trump was a step back in time. None of us wanted to take 21st century America back to the segregated, air polluted and garbage littered mid 20th century America romanticized by Donald Trump. So fearful in fact were we, that we began organically to call ourselves the “resistance”. I embraced the label as a personal commitment to fight trump, and everything he represents. I am a soldier in the fight against authoritarianism. I am one of the ‘resistance”.

As days have slid painfully into weeks and now into months my worries have expanded from domestic policy worries to international concerns. These growing concerns have been fueled by calls and visits from some of the world’s most conspicuous dictators and thugs. Trump has spared no effort in welcoming the most evil men in the world into the Oval Office, while lecturing and disparaging our international allies and our closest trading partners.

Trump’s first overseas trip has been a nauseating affair from the start. The Trump crowd left Washington D.C. under a cloud of suspicion and allegations of Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election and the firing of FBI Director, James Comey, who was leading the FBI investigation of the Trump campaign. Every day of this foreign trip there has been a daily drip of unsavory revelations and an ever spreading scandal at home in the United States. Newspaper headlines and cable news shows have been screaming every salacious detail.

Trump and his entourage were welcomed like royalty in Saudi Arabia by King Salman. Salman has one of the most repressive governments on earth, and here is the American President promising billions of dollars in armament to the leader of the Sunni Muslim world.

From where I’m sitting, it looks as if the United States, under the leadership of President Trump, has just taken sides in the Shiite and Sunni conflict. Why, why, why, would Trump believe this part of the world needed another gun, bullet, or missile? Trump’s threat’s to tear up the Iran nuclear deal has also increased tensions between Sunni and Shiite. I think what we need is a lot more diplomacy and a lot less weaponry.

When our idiot, demented President got to Israel (“after leaving the Middle East”) Trump doubled down on his stupidity. After the mind boggling disclosure that Trump had discussed classified secrets with Russian government officials, during an Oval Office meeting, a week before going overseas Trump decided to have an impromptu press chat with the Israeli press, at which time he said, “I never specified the sources of the intel came from Israeli.” Of course, no one had said the intel had come from Israel, except him. OMG.

Just a couple of Trump’s Middle East and European fuck ups include, 1.) While discussing his visit to Saudi Arabia, Trump inadvertently called King Salman of Saudi Arabia, “King Soloman” (an ancient Jewish king), 2.) Trump confirmed to the press that his disclosure of classified information originated in Israel, 3.) Trump also told the world that he was so stupid he did not realize that Israel was in the Middle East, 4.) The President’s view of climate change is “evolving” and he may, or may not, pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement, which is an agreement within the U.N. framework, setting out a global action plan to put the world on track to stabilize temperatures. 5.) Trump calling the Germans “very bad” because of all the German cars sold in the United States, unwittingly condemning BMW for producing more cars in the U.S. than anywhere else in the world. 6.) Angela Merkel was so disturbed by her meeting with President Trump that she issued a statement saying that Europe needed to “fight for our destiny” and indicated that neither the UK or the United States could be counted on as “reliable partners” in the future.

Stories are circulating that NSA General McMaster attempted to fully brief Trump on the world situation daily before the trip, but was greeted by Trump with boredom, disinterest, disregard, and dismissiveness. This is a president that seems to have no interest in real news, but apparently wants to catch up with breaking news on Breitbart or Russia Television. It reportedly, became so bad that McMaster would submit a single page of bullet points to Trump so as not to lose the president’s attention. Trumpie likes to fly by the seat of his pants. unfortunately his behavior scares me to death.

In Europe he was so offensive at the NATO summit I literally cringed. OMG, when will this demented fool shut up? I guess he won’t, until we exert enough pressure on Congress to uncover what really is going on with Trump and remove him from office. Can it be done before he does irreparable damage to our standing in the world? I don’t know. I hope so. Because, we are beginning to look like a joke, with a puppet under the direction of Vladimir Putin.

By the time the Trump train got to Brussels the train was slipping off the rails. It was obvious to observers that Trump was poorly prepared for the world stage. It was shown world wide when Trump, anxious to get in front of the television cameras, physically shoved the Prime Minister of Montenegro out of his way. Later, making a speech at the 9/11 monument Trump went on a “pay up” campaign speech. An appalling image of an ignorant unprepared president.

With Russia’s sword rattling in eastern Europe, the NATO partners were looking for Trump to verbally re-commit to the Article 5 section of the mutual defense compact, but Trump chose not to. I’m sure that Putin was doing the Cossack Hopak all around the Kremlin when he saw Trump’s performance in front of the NATO partners. Trump seems to say all the right things if he were working for Russian interests, but not so correct if he is working for accepted American interests. You would almost think that Trump owes Putin a pile of money. Hmmm.

On Thursday, news broke that Jared Kushner, was under “FBI scrutiny” in the Russian collusion case. Hmmm.

On Friday, news broke that Jared Kushner was believed to have attempted to set up a “back channel” from the Trump transition team to the Kremlin. What the fuck? If this deeply classified leaked tale is true, I suggest we immediately get these folks as far from the White House as we possibly can. Right now, I’m thinking a cold cell on Riker’s Island, or maybe one of those huts in the Russian “archipelago” would be great temporary quarters until we get to the bottom of all this. I guarantee these “tough guys” would start talking after “a couple nights in the hole”. In fact, I can imagine them pushing each other aside, just to get to the microphones

Since when do American citizens want “back channel” communications with known adversaries of the United States, effectively creating “secret (covert)” conversations between themselves and a hostile government? Why, I keep asking myself? What motive? Is it just terrible judgement, considering the climate of the circumstances. These activities allegedly took place on Dec 1 or Dec 2 of 2016. If nothing else, these behaviors would serve to undermine the Obama administration. The Obama administration was, at the time, still our duly elected president.

Kushner also, reportedly, had a meeting with a state owned bank official; meaning a meeting with a Russian agent. The banker Kushner met with is a graduate of FSB (modern KGB) spy school. Remember this is nearly two months before Trump was to assume office.

I am absolutely convinced my first discomfort with Trump’s election was correct. There is serious mischief afoot. I hear pundits say, “There’s plenty of smoke, but there doesn’t seem to be any fire.” Fires can remain hidden within walls for long periods of time before they erupt into a holocaust of destruction. I believe that it is entirely possible that the American people have installed a team of Russian spies along with a complete network of Kremlin sympathizers in the White House.

Beyond appointing a Special Counsel to look into the Russian interference in the 2016 election I believe we will need an Independent Commission to examine this matter. I don’t know about you, but I know I am not ready to hop in bed with the likes of Rodrigo Duterte, Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan, and if we don’t put a stop to it Trump and Kushner will have us whoring for these murdering thugs.

I believe in the end, it will all boil down to money. How much money do Trump and Kushner owe and who do they owe it to? ?
We need to get a look at Trump and Kushner’s taxes to find out how much they thought our democracy was worth. I bet they valued it at less than a billion bucks. If I wasn’t so angry, I would be crying. What a sad tale. We have a whole movie series here.
