As we draw closer to the dreaded day of January 20th, Donald Trump’s second inauguration, something I thought I would never hear or say, allow me to point out more insane things he has done prior to his taking office again this month. We absolutely must resist this devastating excuse for a president…

Cold Day in Hell?

But it should be noted first, even his inauguration itself demonstrates his all-consuming self-interest: the ceremony has been moved indoors because the temperature is predicted to be in the low twenties. At least two prior Presidents in the last 60 years or so were inaugurated outside in similar cold, and the last time an inauguration was moved indoors, the temp at noon was 7 above zero. Even more telling is the official statement that the most of the quarter-million tickets sold for the event when it was set for outside won’t be honored for indoor seats, but are now “commemorative”. In other words, worthless – but wait a minute, they were already. All the more reason we absolutely must continue to resist this coming travesty.

1. Among the effects of global warming, wildfires are destroying much of southern California – deaths and unimaginable destruction, to one of our biggest and wealthiest states. Trump is already threatening to withhold funds for rebuilding. To further the humiliation the Orange One used playground taunts in an attempt to embarrass the Democratic governor, Gavin Newsome, who commented he had stopped listening to such crap in the third grade.
2. Trump objected loudly to the flags being flown half-mast for a true humanitarian, a President that was for all people, a breath of fresh air, Jimmy Carter. No other President would selfishly care about flags at half-staff honoring another President’s death, despite inauguration day- only a narcissist would demand they be raised. In fact, the flag at Mar-a-Lago has been back up for awhile.
3. Trump is a convicted felon; who, apparently can still vote but can’t own a gun. Makes no sense to me. He is a rapist – there, I said it. What a horrific message we are sending our young people, especially young men – sexual assault means you can be president and get away with it. The adulterer that talks about having sex with the wives of his friends is who the right-wing fundamentalists are worshiping. ‘Have no other gods before Him’ is what the Bible teaches us, yet the misguided fundamentalists place the orange haired buffoon that held a Bible upside down, outside of a church that he never attended, on a pedestal. The construction of the Golden Calf re-emerges among Trump disciples.
4. Anyone else in America, with 34 felonies could not even get a job, as he pretended to do during the campaign. His little charade of flipping burgers at McDonalds was a mockery and a big middle finger to the average hard working Americans.
5. Our country is once again a worldwide laughing stock, and it looks like history is about to repeat itself, likely worse this go around.. Greenland is not for sale, neither is our northern neighbor, Canada. When will this absurdity end?  In sarcastic response, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum proposed renaming North America, “América Mexicana”.
6. Donnie Boy is completely delusional, making remarks about being better looking and smarter than our beautiful, intelligent, and exquisitely qualified, Vice President, Kamala Harris, the woman who would have won the election, except for the firmly entrenched male chauvinism that overrides talent and experience in this country.
7. Trump promises to be ‘a dictator from day one’, threatening to overthrow our democracy, telling his brainwashed followers that they ‘will never need to vote again’ – this is very frightening rhetoric. Overturning our nearly 250 year old democracy makes me tremble.
8. The GOP leadership is already calling for a third term for the old geezer-grifter. The man is old. Very old by ‘Biden‘ measurement. He appears to be in poor physical health. He is obviously delusional, illiterate, and most likely in the middle stages of some form of dementia. Watch his strange mouth movements. The heavy theatrical makeup only heightens the bizarre image. Beyond his appearance just listen to his playground bullying. The man is locked in the 1970’s, and before. He will be 78 years old on 6/14/2025.  He’s crazy now, just image where he will be cognitively in two years, four years, six years, and OMG, eight years.
9. My question is, just who do the Republicans think will run the country next year-or the year after, when Trump is peeing and pooping his diaper and drooling on his shirt front; when they can no longer cover up the truth of his dementia. Mr. Trump is a not just a few fries short of a happy meal, he’s missing the whole cheeseburger. The guy waiting in the wings to takeover is JD Vance, who is a very slick and oily front man for the oligarchs.  I didn’t mention his inexperience or his less than favorable personality; his total lack of charisma, is of special note, however.
10. January 6th – need I elaborate? The murderous violence that shook our country to the very core – where were the Christian fundamentalists that day? The Republicans have done an amazing job of whitewashing that 187 minutes of insurrection watched on television by the outgoing president who did nothing to calm the mob.  The fact of the matter is that Trump and his thugs tried to violently overthrow a free and fair election. In other countries they would have called it a failed coup. How can anyone forget this devastating day in American history, or allow anyone else to minimize the event?
11. Hitler faked assassination attempts during his horrific reign of terror, and I honestly believe so did Trump in Butler PA, and then later at the golf course. There are very many suspicious things regarding these assassination attempts. The loss of life at that rally in Butler, is especially troubling.
12. Mass deportation awaits us – even immigrants that are here legally are being threatened with deportation. The cost to  our economy will be catastrophic. I am very happy to see that some sheriffs’ departments say they plan to refuse to comply with Trump’s deportation rants. Now he is calling for a mile wide moat in front of the infamous wall complete with alligators and crocodiles to stop the southern invasion.
13. Trump famously made fun of a disabled journalist, mocking the man for having been born with a disability. No one can change the condition, sex, race, or nationality they are born with. These are acts of God, and we are all created equal in his image. The Lord made no one inferior to another human being. One of Donald’s nephews, who has a disabled child, states categorically that Donald has questioned keeping the boy alive. All sworn to in a recent book and TV interviews.
14. Trump and his billionaire buddies want to end Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; leaving seniors and those on disability with no means of financial support or healthcare. Goodbye social safety net. He wants to cut federal nutrition programs, including WIC and SNAP. Since the election, Trump has begun telling his followers that ‘reducing the cost of groceries will be very difficult’ while eggs are currently around $5.00 dozen in my neck of the woods.
15. The tax cuts for billionaires directly impact the growing national debt, which then effects the solvency of the social safety net. While we have paid our hard earned money into Social Security the Trump team wants to stop retirees from receiving those funds from the government, but rather create some privatized for profit system which will be almost guaranteed to fail; leaving millions of Americans displaced. The American people do not want privatized health care. What they really want is health care for all and a dignified, livable retirement. We are actually entitled to it. Instead he wants to give funds to the very select “entitled” group of billionaires.
16. His anti-Semitism is so very flagrant, wishing he had generals just like Hitler had. Admiring a devil like Hitler speaks volumes about the kind of “man” Trump really is.
17. His wife was our first naked “first lady”, and a complete embarrassment to our country. Elon Musk and Melania, both are immigrants- will they be deported? All Americans originally came from somewhere outside our nation, except native Americans…of course they came across the ice mass from Asia. So, even the original Americans aren’t that original.
18. Trump has the audacity to scribble his signature on the front page of the Bibles he’s peddling on line and on late night television, as if the Word of God actually needs an endorsement from a convicted felon that has broken just about every commandment. If you are like me, a practicing Christian, this is very blasphemous behavior by Donald.
19. Trump feels he is above the law and had the complete ignorance and insanity to say that black folks will now understand him because he is a convicted felon and has an official mug shot that he sells on T shirts. This despicable, hateful racist rhetoric stands against common decency and we need to fight back now.
20. He is incapable of simply opening the door of a garbage truck. How can he run the nation if he can’t use a simple vehicle door handle? I thank our should-be VP elect Tim Walz for pointing this out.
21. Trump actually brags about appointing the Supreme Court that destroyed reproductive freedom in the U.S., while women having natural occurring miscarriages are bleeding to death in hospital parking lots. Dying is not “pro-life”.
22. During the campaign Trump distanced himself from Project 2025, a very scary proposition of right-wing idiocy that can literally destroy our freedom and our democracy, but has now, according to newspaper reports, warmed up to Project 2025.
23. Trump swayed to and fro on stage, for a full 45 minutes, completely out of it during a rally, not that he’s ever been in it… what a bizarre display. Had VP Harris or President Biden made such a spectacle of themselves, the Republicans would have been all over it, complaining that they were unfit to hold office.

A Travesty, Not a Title

I want President Joe Biden, to invoke the Fourteenth amendment now to stop Trumpy boy from destroying our nation, but I know that won’t happen. Just calling him a convicted felon is not punishment, it’s not a title. Just giving him the title of convicted felon is an affront to our legal system, like a beauty queen without a crown. Trump certainly belongs in prison, but I know it’s too late, and unthinkable in the mind of the constitutionalist president, Joe Biden.

Danger, Will Robinson (and Everyone Else…)

The president that has called our hard working military “suckers” and “losers,” has been re-elected, and will once again have access to our nuclear codes. Putin’s and Elon’s puppet can cause an all out nuclear war and destroy large parts of our world over ego and greed. It may be the time to ask for a spiritual intervention.

Stand Up and Be Counted

Donald Trump is not capable of running our country anywhere but into the ground and into the hands of those who hate us. Resist, resist, resist, while we still have our freedom to do so. We are not going back ever. The “Notorious” RBG has passed the torch down to us anti-Trumpsters. It’s well past time to stand up for what’s right and “The Donald” is certainly not right about anything at all. When we fight, we win. Let’s follow the fabulous Michele Obama’s very sound advice and “Do something”.

Pray and Protest

I pray for peace everyday and hope desperately for a miracle, because the Donald just won’t do, he just does not make the grade – he can’t even play a game of golf without cheating. January 20th, in my pink Chucks and pearls, I will refuse to watch the infuriating inauguration. Back to the street corners like I did in my twenties and thirties, standing up for human rights, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, and against racism and anti-Semitism. Trumpty Dumpty will never be a leader by any stretch of the imagination, so let’s take up that RBG torch and resist. When we fight, we win. Who is with me?
