Not Above The Law

To Write Or To March
It is a spectacularly beautiful day at the Oregon coast. I planned on attending the Trump Tax March today in Portland, but a swollen and irritated knee has me sidelined. Instead of going to the march I will watch the coverage on TV tonight. Hopefully they get a decent turnout. So, I’ve decided to write a post on Jared Kushner for Calamity Politics.
Edvard Munch
The pathetic Trump administration and his family deserves a rant today. I feel I need to scream, and keep screaming until I’m heard. I see myself, the subject of artist Edvard Munch, as I scream silently at an unresponsive world. Now, is a time of deep concern and I want to make sure someone hears me.
A Letter To Comey
Jerry Nadler (DNY), told CNN, that he and five members of his party had sent a letter to FBI Director, James Comey. The letter requested Jared Kushner, son-in-law and Senior Advisor to Trump, have his interim top-secret clearance revoked or suspended. The group further ask for an investigation into Kushner’s previously unreported meetings with foreign officials. Those meetings included Russian diplomats, Russian operatives, and Russian state-owned bank officials, prior to the Trump Inauguration.
Security Clearance
The furor centers around Kushner’s failure to truthfully answer questions on a security clearance form. “It’s hard to imagine that he would forget” meeting with all these Russians. The form, in question, is in fact a questionnaire, “The form requires you to answer COMPLETELY, under the PENALTY OF PERJURY.” Nadler said. “He (Kushner) submitted a materially false statement to the FBI for security clearance, and that is a very bad thing, and it’s potentially a criminal act with a five-year penalty.” Don Beyer another signer to the letter called the Kushner omissions a “significant issue for Trump’s administration.” Kushner has been Trump’s point man for many foreign policy issues. So without a doubt, he needs security clearance.
Omissions
As information leaks from this corrupt White House, it is clear that Jared Kushner “omitted” numerous meetings with foreign government officials. Meetings both in the United States and overseas, prior to Trump taking office, when filing paperwork with the FBI. Kushner’s pattern is like that of other Trump campaign and Trump associates, indicating “a pattern of deception”. The U.S. News reported that the Democratic lawmaker’s letter claims Kushner, “knowingly falsified information.
Looking For Compliance
Other Democrats signing the letter to Comey included Ted Lieu, Jamie Raskin and Peter Welch. The Dems want to make sure that Kushner is “in compliance with all laws and regulations. He is not above the law.”
Getting Ahead Of Things
In trying to get ahead of the story, Kushner’s lawyer declared the “omissions to be an error” and “unintentional.” “The paperwork was submitted prematurely and it is not unusual for information to be amended when a subject meets for the formal FBI interview.”
Dark And Sinister
Kushner is just one of a long line of Trump campaign officials, transition assistants, and administrative advisors that are now under investigation for potentially illegal activities with Russians agents or officials. As more and more links emerge, suspicion and innuendo give the President and his administration a dark and sinister undertone. If the implications of conspiracy are proved correct, that a candidate for the U.S. Presidency, co-operated in an election fraud with a foreign power it could prove institution destroying.
Kushner is expected to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I can only imagine how he intends to explain all of this cloak and dagger shit. Hopefully, he is “not above the law.” Only time will tell.
