Too Many Days
I know all years, except for Leap Year, have 365 days. So, why does 2025 feel like it’s got 750 days? Never mind; I figured it out on my own. Donald J. Trump’s in office and it feels like every ‘friggen day has somehow been virtually stretched and twisted until it feels like two.
How Much Bullshit is Too Much?
My memories of Trump’s first term are foggy at best, but I think Trump wanted to takeover Greenland during his first administration and he continued the rhetoric into his second term. While deflecting the fallout from suggesting that we should make Canada the 51st state, I think that’s when Trump started demanding Google and all the map makers change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Just meaningless distractions? I’m not so sure. The ramblings of a demented old man? I’m sure it’s some of that, but certainly not all of it.
Heritage Foundation
None of it makes sense; unless you believe in Project 2025. The deeper we move into Trump’s Alice in Wonderland world the more chaotic…the more numbing. Trump has signed more than 220 Executive Orders since retaking the White House, surpassing all previous records and raising major concerns about the abuse of presidential power. The Robert’s Supreme Court seems more than willing to grant Trump’s every wish. Is there no conscience? No justice? No honor? No fairness? Apparently, not. There seems to be no limit on the Heritage Foundation’s love affair with the Robert’s court and its willingness to drag us back to 1950, or 1850. A time when women bore children, lots of them, a time when a woman had no rights except those allowed by her father or her husband. A time when white children were sold into indentured servitude, when blacks were slaves. A time when none of us want to go back to unless you are white, male, and wealthy.
Trump Second Term Head Shakers
1.) Unbelievable Intrusion into personal information. Trump anointing or appointing, depending on how you look at it, Elon Musk and his DOGE minions given free rein to fire two million civil service workers while scouring information from multiple government sources. Can we ever forget Musk wielding that infamous chainsaw. A perfect symbol of the man who is directly responsible for millions of deaths world wide since the elimination of USAID. Some experts are estimating 8,000 people a day will die without USAID. That is in one year, 2,900,000 human beings. Certainly one of the darkest days for the United States on the world stage. The administration freezes foreign aid, including halting funding for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), threatening access to HIV treatment for millions globally. A sad image when the richest among us decide to kill the poorest. While killing millions Trump and Musk still had time to attack the United Nations, claiming the organization no longer serves American interests. Was that the intent…to serve American interests?
2.) Trump proclaiming “the coming of a new Gilded Age,” on day one, apparently referring to the gaudy gold spray painted Oval Office, because in the good ol USA inflation is running at 3%, kids are going hungry and hard working Americans will soon lose their health insurance. Oh Lordy. No kings here. No gold toilets. No gold ballrooms. It looks like the only one we need to convince of that is Trump. In my day (LOL), this fascination with gold knick-knacks and pottie-chairs would have been called tacky, trashy, maybe, cringe-worthy. In his inaugural address, Trump crowed, “The golden age of America begins right now.” By day 100 of Trump II his poll numbers had begun to crater, 6 out of 10 poll respondents said Trump’s policies are making the economy worse. The tariffs drama changes every day, with multiple starts a new one every day. Roll the dice as to the rate any given day. By day 350 of Trump II, 71% of Americans said the country is headed in the wrong direction. Golden age for the few but tarnished age for the many.
3.) Warlike actions off the Venezuela coast: First, Trump likes to make a big show, great video for the evening news. Our navy is killing people without a declaration of war or arrest warrant. That sounds bad, certainly fishy…definitely criminal. In fact, we are most likely looking at murder. Now what does Trump actually want out of this murderous campaign? Just last week we went from “drug boats” to “sanctioned oil tankers,” to pending blockades and boots on the ground. Whatever Trump’s motives, most likely regime change and a big load of distraction are involved. Why are we wasting millions of dollars on grandiose display. Fund the Coast Guard and let them do the job they’ve been doing for decades.
4.) Drain the Swamp Stuff: Free plane rides on federal aircraft and FBI employees providing security for the FBI Director Kash Patel’s girlfriend. What about Pete Hegseth’s makeup studio at the cost of $40,000. Or, what about Kristi Noem and her multimillion dollar jet and all her choreographed showboating-that doesn’t come free folks. And Tom Homan, Trump’s drug czar I think has not been willing to tell us what he did with the $50,000 “bribe” he got from the FBI in a brown paper bag, in a sting. Which I think is the same as saying Homan has $50,000 of the American people’s money. All in all, these blatant abuses of office and federal resources is petty stuff compared to the world wide grift being perpetrated by the Trump family and their inner circle.
5.) It all started with a lie. Ron Vara, was a made up guy, an “expert” that Peter Navarro created to validate his dumb ass tariff theories. That’s right folks, the expert behind Trump’s tariff policies was, and still is, a phony. Navarro first introduced his fictional expert “Ron Vara” (apparently an anagram of his own name) in his 2001 book, If it’s Raining in Brazil, Buy Starbucks. This fabricated expert was subsequently cited as an expert by Navarro is several later books. This asshole is costing every American thousands of dollars.
6.) Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is nominated and confirmed as Secretary of Health and Human Services. The man who claims cod liver oil, steroids, and antibiotics are effective treatments for measles is in charge of the health care of the American people. This anti-vaxer, this stated ex-heroin addict is a hell of a dangerous choice to place in this powerful position; in my humble opinion. The damage this low life is causing may set back our health science fifty years.
7. Tulsi Gabbard is nominated and confirmed as Director of National Intelligence. The queen of conspiracy theories and known Putin supporter at the head of National Intelligence should scare the fuck out of all of us.
8.) Pete Hegseth is nominated and confirmed as Secretary of Defense. Talk about a guy working totally above his abilities and character. The list of OMG moments for Hegseth seems endless. There is no way this character wouldn’t have been booted out on his ass months ago. I don’t have time or space for all of his scandals, but here are a couple that you may have forgotten. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shares details of US airstrikes in Yemen, via a Signal chat with wife and brother! Then in another OMG moment Hegseth nearly briefed Elon Musk on sensitive U.S.-China military strategies. On its face, briefing the wildly drug abusing Musk on China secrets should shock and appall you! The Pentagon, since Hegseth’s appointment has directed the removal of over 400 books at the Naval Academy deemed to be related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Hegseth reinstates Confederate commemorations in military institutions, including renaming military bases. Secretary Pete Hegseth proposes renaming the Department of Defense as the Department of War, apparently ignoring the military’s mission is supposed to be peacekeeping. Hegseth refuses to release the second strike video from a much condemned operation off the Venezuala coast, that killed 2 helpless men. Amidst the chaos The Pentagon attempts to ban transgender military service members; expelling transgender individuals from the military and interrupting their medical treatments, And then, of course, maybe the worst blunder of all — and that’s saying something — Signalgate, where Trump’s National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz, admits a reporter into a Signal chat discussing U.S. military strikes on Houthis in Yemen with Hegseth and other top US officials. One thing we’ve learned about Hegseth is that he’s all about the white male macho comic book character.
